Mon, 16 November 2009 It's been a while since we've talked about the position I have in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Somerset Hills. I had a lesson this weekend though in what it means to live the change that we want to see. Unfortunately, this week's example? It's an example of being orderly, organised, rule-oriented in order to achieve that change... I am getting old. Some key links

Mon, 9 November 2009 More on National PodCast Post Month tonight. This year, I've chosen to share a poem a day. I discuss that form I've enjoyed writing, the haikus that Chris Cavs is worrying demonstrate that I'm cracking up. I get into some of the history of haikus, some of it I think I may even have made up. Well, subscribe to the feed and find out what a month's worth of poetry sounds like. Some key links

Mon, 2 November 2009 National PodCast Post Month has begun. This year, I've chosen to share a poem a day. Okay, what does poetry have to do with living the change? Yeah, Chris Cavs is already hassling me about haikus with butterflies, but poetry is something I live as an example of *why* I live the change. Life is more than protests and getting up in somebody's face. It's not always puppy dogs and rainbows, but art has its place, too. Well, subscribe to the feed and find out what a month's worth of poetry sounds like. Some key links

Mon, 26 October 2009 A week of "vacation"? How is it that I can be so exhausted after that? Am I doing it rong akshully? Yeah, in part. I need to reconoiter what change means on a daily basis. And yes, there's some boat metaphors in here. I throw out some props to Len from Jawbone, Scott Sigler, and the Big Guy of the week, JC Hutchins :) Some key links

Mon, 19 October 2009 It's been a long day being involved in the Digital Pharma Marketing conference. A fair reminder, I work for a pharmaceutical company. What's this got to with "living the change that we want to see"? I feel as though I'm trying to help people understand Social Media. So many marketers just want to jump in and do some shouting. I'm hoping I can help them grok the space first. FULL TRANSPARENCY: The opinions expressed here represent my own and are not the opinions of my employer. #iwork@novartis Some key links

Mon, 12 October 2009 Discussion around the feedback from Alexandre Enkerli. This is the second of two parts answering the two-fold question, "What about socialisation?" as well as "What if everybody homeschooled, what would socialisation look like?" It's always hard when the discussion turns to self-realisation, doesn't it? This week runs a bit longer, but I think it's still worth it :) Some key links

Tue, 29 September 2009 Feedback from JR Murdock. This renowned Podiobook author has some thought provoking discussion about the nature of parental involvement. That's my theme I'm going to stick with... there's more than just that, but it's what I'm running with. Thanks JR, for such well-constructed thoughts. Show 104 will give an opportunity to revisit some theme from Alex Enkerli. Some key links

Mon, 21 September 2009 Feedback from Alexandre Enkerli. He's teaching an education course, and he has an interesting perspective about some of the concepts of education in general. This show is all about the conversation, right? Well, Alex certainly gives us some topics for conversation. I've got a short piece to go with *this* feedback, and need to save some other points for a future show. Show 103 will have some feedback from JR Murdock... I'm ecstatic to have so much content. Mon, 25 August 2008 Should we have to pay for "extra" garbage? Should companies have to take back all the packaging they sell? Imagine if you will that your township, borough, or county decides what an average amount of garage should be for you. So, it charges you extra for trash above that average, and things bigger than average trash. Would you expect companies to help by making their packaging smaller? or their packaging more recyclable? This contest is open to domestic US and International entrants. There is no purchase necessary. Send your name and address to wholelotofnonsense@gmail.com in an email with "Chico Bag Contest" in the subject. I won't resell your names. I will be sending out holiday cards, though. So, I'll be using those addresses for that. Some key links

Sat, 16 September 2006 Whole Lot of Nonsense - Show 35 - CSA... not the abbreviation you're thinking of I've been enjoying the produce we've been getting from our local CSA - Honey Brook Organic Farm, so I figure, "Hey, I PodCast... let's PodCast about this... and it's a good social action thing to do...". Listen to me and others talk about how great CSAs are. This show's song is from Tons of Fun University and is called "Come a Long Way". The bed music for the CSA quotes comes from Savium called Animus Girl, courtesy of the PodSafe Music Network. The twang in this show also comes from the PMN and is from Bloingo.

Mon, 28 August 2006 Apparently, I've been thinking so much I'm not even paying attention to what's going on in my feed. Thanks to Jack from Wander Radio for keeping me on my toes. Whole Lot of Nonsense - Show 34 - Time for some music... Too much thinking lately... I've just been sitting around thinking too ($*#)&% much lately, so I need a break. I've got my family, my job, my life, my health all going for me... still I've been hamlet-izing too much. I've got four songs that have been running through my head for the last few weeks, and hey! I can play them on a PodCast... how fortuitous.
All in all, ~26 minutes I enjoyed bringing you. Comments[0] |
