Mon, 26 October 2009 A week of "vacation"? How is it that I can be so exhausted after that? Am I doing it rong akshully? Yeah, in part. I need to reconoiter what change means on a daily basis. And yes, there's some boat metaphors in here. I throw out some props to Len from Jawbone, Scott Sigler, and the Big Guy of the week, JC Hutchins :) Some key links

I like this episode. A few thoughts, the first general, the second more specific to you: 1) living the change sometimes involves compromise. Now, I'm not offering advice here, only my thoughts. So, what do I mean by this? I mean that living your change doesn't make it so. This doesn't mean you change your change (ha-hAA!). It means you adjust your strategy. Again, this is the proverbial you. I'm not saying that you're doing it wrong... but it leads my to my second thought 2) What if you tried new strategies to get your message out? To make your change happen? From this episode, I get the impression that your "change" is getting the world to see the opportunities offered by social media (web 2.0, etc., etc.) So far your methods seem to include your podcast, extensive use of twitter and yammer, and...? Networking with like-minded folks via these avenues and conferences? Lobbying your bosses? Providing change at the UU congregation (via podcasting the sermons, etc.). So, what are some other strategies? Some come to mind, but I only offer these for the sake of examples: Pharm seems slow to adopt these changes. Perhaps another industry would be more interested? You've indicated that CC has done a lot of writing on this subject. Maybe you can start doing so as well? 3) So, I'm just writing this free-from, so I don't know if this 3rd idea is really a 3rd idea, rather than just an extension of the first two. Perhaps it's simply time for the next step in living the change. You've been living the first steps of this change. Maybe now you... somehow model this change in other ways? I'm not sure what those might be, as your change is not mine. Some sort of paper on the subject? Some net-worthy version of said paper? Or a model of what that change would looke like? Like a fake viral campaign-ish thing? Those two authors you mentioned had a specific thing they were passionate about where they were able to use this whole inter-tubes thing to create a new paradigm for their thing to live. What's your thing? You know how you want it to live, and can picture it living. But, what is it?
