Mon, 25 August 2008 Should we have to pay for "extra" garbage? Should companies have to take back all the packaging they sell? Imagine if you will that your township, borough, or county decides what an average amount of garage should be for you. So, it charges you extra for trash above that average, and things bigger than average trash. Would you expect companies to help by making their packaging smaller? or their packaging more recyclable? I share my thoughts on just these questions. This PodCast was inspired by a story in Parade Magazine. The show will have a name change come episode 51. I'll be going back to the moniker Whole Lot of Nonsense. It'll be the same short form show we all have come to love. Don't be surprised when it happens. I recently went to the New Media Expo, and the gang from Wizzard Media gave away Chico Bags. I picked up an extra green one so I could give it away to one of my listeners. This contest is open to domestic US and International entrants. There is no purchase necessary. Send your name and address to wholelotofnonsense@gmail.com in an email with "Chico Bag Contest" in the subject. I won't resell your names. I will be sending out holiday cards, though. So, I'll be using those addresses for that. Some key links

And now he looks through her eyes at his own sleeping brown face as she peers at him through the crystal porthole in his stasis chamber. After twenty years, Parasite will wake up. Comments[0] |
Mon, 18 August 2008 Feedback, a couple of announcements, and a giveaway. Our feedback comes from the wife of one of our listeners. She talks about the SHIP, State Health Insurance Assistance Program (I know the A is missing), and talks about Medicare Part D. The show will have a name change come episode 51. Mon, 11 August 2008 Healthcare can be confusing, and difficult to research. This show, I discuss the Patient Navigator Program from Sen. Mendez of New Jersey designed to help people understand the Medicare Part D benefit. I also talk about the new Patient Assistance Now website offered by the Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation that includes patient assistance programs helping people get access to pharmaceuticals from Novartis. The site also offers a wide variety of clinical trial information from Novartis and other pharmaceutical companies. Some key links

Mon, 4 August 2008 Thanks to everyone for your comments about show 43. If you'd like to share your sympathy directly with the victims of the shootings, please go to http://www.tvuuc.org. The focus of this show is eBooks. I riff on a quote from Wiliam McDonough from TED 2005 about the beauty of trees. I talk about how you don't have to buy a new device to enjoy eBooks and how I want my favourite store to keep running. I don't get paid for these comments. Some key links
